Ear, Nose & Throat

Faramed Clinic's Ear, Nose & Throat Department provides a broad vision for research, with specific programs dedicated to the study of head and neck cancer, diseases of the hearing and balance mechanisms, the skull base area, pathology of the nose and paranasal sinuses, wound healing, and pediatric disorders.

Success of both basic science and translational initiatives is predicated on the development of intrainstitutional collaborations within Faramed Clinic, as well as through corporate and government alliances.

Ear, Nose & Throat conditions include:

  • Otosclerosis (a condition of the middle ear that causes hearing loss) and other problems with hearing and deafness.
  • Innitus (ringing in the ears) and eustachian tube dysfunction dizziness and vertigo.
  • Ear Infections, Perforated Ear Drum and Cholesteatoma.
  • Sinus infection and rhino-sinusitis, including in children.
  • Nasal obstruction, Disorders of the sense of smell.
  • Nasal polyps, Tumours of the nose.
  • Adenoid problems – surgical removal of these small glands in the throat at the back of the nose is sometimes needed, and is usually performed in childhood.
  • Tonsillitis, sometimes requiring surgical removal of the tonsils, usually in childhood.
  • Upper airway breathing problems.
  • Snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea (when breathing stops during sleep).
